Customise your package
We specialise in customised packages tailored to your needs.
Family Umrah Packages Built Around Your Interests
Taking your family on Umrah is different from going alone. You are thinking about the walk from the hotel with a tired seven-year-old, a room where everyone fits, and a grandparent who cannot manage long distances in the heat. Our family Umrah packages are built around those things first, whether you need an Umrah package for a family of three or an extended family of twelve.
Every family package includes return flights from the UK, visas for every family member, hotels in Makkah and Madinah and all your transfers. Adults start from £580 and children from £430 and we price your whole family together so you see one clear total.
Family Umrah Package Prices: Adults and Children
Children pay less than adults on every package. These are our price ranges per person for the current season:
| Package | Adult price | Child price |
|---|---|---|
| 3 star, 7 days | £580 – £730 | £430 – £530 |
| 3 star, 10 days | £670 – £820 | £470 – £620 |
| 3 star, 14 days | £830 – £1,030 | £580 – £720 |
| 4 star, 7 days | £720 – £920 | £520 – £670 |
| 4 star, 10 days | £820 – £1,050 | £560 – £730 |
| 4 star, 14 days | £950 – £1,190 | £640 – £830 |
| 5 star, 7 days | £1,050 – £1,300 | £750 – £940 |
| 5 star, 10 days | £1,130 – £1,440 | £840 – £1,090 |
| 5 star, 14 days | £1,290 – £1,640 | £940 – £1,250 |
Where you land in each range depends on your dates and how many people share a room. A family of four or five sharing one room usually gets the best price per head. Babies and toddlers who do not need their own seat or bed are priced separately, so tell us their ages when you ask for a quote.
Family Rooms: How Your Family Will Sleep
Room layout is the question families ask us most, and it makes a big difference to cost and comfort.
- Quad rooms sleep four and are the best value for two parents and two children.
- Triple rooms suit a parent travelling with two children or a couple with one older child.
- Two connecting rooms work well for larger families or when grandparents are coming too and want their own space.
- Extra beds or cots can be added in many hotels. We confirm this in writing before you book, not when you arrive.
Choosing a Family-Friendly Hotel in Makkah and Madinah
With children, the walk matters more than the star rating. A 900 metre walk is fine for two adults. With a pushchair, a sleepy child and the midday heat, it feels much longer.
On our 3 star family packages, hotels such as Nawazi Ajyad and Areej Al Falah are around 800 to 900 metres from the Haram. Our 4 star family packages bring that down, with hotels like Al Rawda Al Aqeeq about 300 metres from Masjid an-Nabawi and Saja Al Madinah about 250 metres. On our 5 star family packages, Al Marwa Rayhaan is around 50 metres from Masjid al-Haram and Swissotel Al Maqam around 80 metres, so you can pop back to the room between prayers when a child needs a nap.
If you are travelling with young children or elderly parents, we usually suggest spending a little more on the Makkah hotel and saving on Madinah, where the walks are shorter and calmer.
Performing Umrah with Children
A child’s Umrah is valid and rewarded. Most scholars hold that it does not take the place of the Umrah they perform as adults. Many parents find their children remember the trip for the rest of their lives. A few practical points help it go smoothly:
- Ihram for boys: younger boys can wear two small white towels or a child’s ihram set. Girls wear normal modest clothing, as women do.
- Pick the right time: tawaf after Fajr or late at night is cooler and quieter than after Asr or Isha.
- Pushchairs and carriers: a lightweight baby carrier is easier than a pushchair in crowded areas. Wheelchairs and electric carts are available for older relatives.
- Stay together: give each child a wristband with your hotel name and your phone number, and agree a meeting point, such as a numbered gate.
- Keep them cool: carry water, use the Zamzam stations and plan rest breaks. Children feel the heat sooner than adults.
Our step-by-step Umrah guide is a good thing to read through with older children before you go.
Umrah with Grandparents and Elderly Parents
Many families travel with three generations. If someone in your family uses a walking aid or tires easily, choose a hotel close to the Haram, ask for a room near the lift, and plan tawaf and sa’i using the wheelchair or electric cart service. We can also arrange a slower itinerary, with an extra rest day between Makkah and Madinah.
Best Time for a Family Umrah from the UK
Most families travel in the school holidays. This season, the October half term (26 to 30 October 2026 in most of England) and the Christmas break (21 December 2026 to 1 January 2027) are the main options. December is also cooler, with daytime highs in Makkah of around 33°C rather than the 43°C you get in summer.
The February 2027 half term falls in Ramadan this year, and the Umrah season closes on 23 March 2027, before most English schools break up for Easter. Our Umrah packages for UK school holidays page goes through every break in detail, and our December Umrah packages page covers the Christmas holidays.
Family Umrah Visa: Documents for Every Family Member
A family Umrah visa is not a single document. Every family member, including babies, needs their own passport and their own visa. British passport holders can use a Saudi tourist eVisa for Umrah, and you also need Nusuk Umrah permits before entering Masjid al-Haram. We apply for the whole family together, so you do not have to manage separate applications.
Each traveller also needs a MenACWY vaccination certificate, with the jab given at least 10 days before you arrive. Check with your GP or a travel clinic about the right vaccine for younger children. Our guide to Umrah visa requirements for UK pilgrims lists every document.
What to Pack for a Family Umrah
Alongside your ihram and prayer items, pack:
- Copies of every passport and visa, kept apart from the originals
- Child-sized ihram, light cotton clothing and a spare set for each day
- Comfortable sandals and socks for cooler mornings in winter
- Rehydration sachets, sun cream and any regular medicines
- A small backpack per child with water, snacks and their name card
Our full Umrah packing checklist for UK pilgrims has the complete list.
